Hood Squad Farms is a food sustainability program that grows food to supplement into our free meal program. Our volunteers learn about growing food, raising farm animals and becoming custodians of their neighborhoods. As custodians of the neighborhood we make sure our neighbors are well fed and prepared for disasters and emergencies. We hold training classes in emergency aid and preparedness and have and emergency communications grid for community to share information and seek help from neighbors.
We aim to build a network of farms, and sustainable food contributors for the bipoc community and the disenfranchised. Our farming network is committed to food sovereignty and believe that healthy free food options should be available to those that need it the most. We grow animals that partner with us to provide fresh eggs, and soon goats milk, cheese and soap will also be available to our vulnerable populations for free.
** Please note that we host our monthly omelette breakfast the first week of the month. If you place an order at this time, note delivery time will be delayed. Your orders allow us to feed the community with your purchases. Thank you for your support! **
